ARS Nicol Aghbalian School (ARS/Eastern USA)
The ARS “Nicol Aghbalian” School of Akhurian opened its doors in 1991. Eighty outstanding students continue their education at this institution. Graduates of this school are admitted to various colleges of the Republic. Needed renovations are routinely carried out at the School.
“Best Teacher”-This program of meritorious recognition has been implemented from 1993 to 1996. Over those three years, 125 teachers have received prizes.
Starting from the year 2002, the ARS has participated in the “Come September” Program, initiated by the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues. Within this program, families with four, five or more school-age children -- as well as those in financial stress, with school-age children, are supplied the necessary school-bags, stationery and clothes. From the year 2002 to 2007 totally 10,900 children have been involved in the program.

2003 – 2004 Academic Year, Yerevan, Ararat Region – 2,800 Children
2004 – 2005 Academic Year, Yerevan, Lori Region – 2,050 Children
2006 – 2007 Academic Year, Aragatsotn Region – 3,000 Children
